Subliminal Message:

A subliminal message is a message that is being picked up by the brain through the subconscious mind without us being consciously aware of it. The definition of subliminal is "below the threshold of conscious thought." Some may refer to this as the "inner mind" or the "core of your mind." It is the essence that makes you...you.
When a message is suggested to the subconscious, it leaves an impression. Imagine mixing chocolate milk for a child. If you add one drop of chocolate, it will still basically look and taste like plain white milk. Add more drops and the milk will darken and start to sweeten. After you have added enough of the chocolate, you will have a different taste in the glass. You will still have the main ingredient of milk, but with an added sweetness and rich flavor. That is basically what will happen to your thoughts. As the milk is flavored drop by drop; so your mind is enriched, thought by thought; impression by impression. You are creating, through repetition, a new thought process flavored with the ideas you would like to incorporate.

Binaural Beats:
Binaural beats are sounds that can alter your brain waves to help put you in a relaxed meditative state, put you in a state of super learning, stimulate creativity and energize you. A binaural beat is a non detectable "noise," a fuzzy static sound that is a backing for the CD. The beats are adjusted in different frequencies, depending on the results to be achieved. GOOGLE binaural beats for numerous sites and information. Binaural beats - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Essential Oils:
Essential oils have known properties that activate an emotional response in the limbic system portion of the brain. The limbic system is responsible for heart rate, breathing, hormone balance, stress levels and the storage of memory and emotional release. Therapeutic essential oils have properties and abilities to help us relax, uplift our spirits, help us focus, improve mental abilities, open spiritual awareness, remove negative feelings and create feelings of love and attraction.

Our sense of smell is one of our most primal senses. When oils are inhaled, scent molecules seat in the olfactory epithelium. This triggers nerve cells and sends electrical impulses to the olfactory bulb in the brain. The olfactory bulb then transmits to the limbic system to the amygdala, where emotional memory is stored. The amygdala is portion of our brain that plays a major role in releasing emotions. The only thing that can stimulate the amygdala directly is through the olfactory system, our sense of smell. The hypothalamus can also be activated, it is our hormone control center. Here chemical messengers are released that can affect everything from sex drive to energy levels.

The quality of the oil is of the utmost importance. Many things factor into the purity of the oils. There are many differences in the way oils are extracted. The criteria for a good quality oil are as numerous as, soil condition, fertilizer, organic verses chemical, geographical region, climate, altitude, harvesting methods, (including the time of day), and distillation process. Many commercially produced oils are infused with synthetic chemicals to create a larger volume at a cheaper cost. These can be considered cosmetic grade and can cause skin rashes, irritations, allergic reactions and can even be toxic. If the oils are not extracted correctly the important chemical compounds are either lost or destroyed in the extraction process and the oil will be useless. These cheaper, low quality oils may be sold in health food stores and sold as pure but they will not be effective and sadly, people will say "they don't work." The oils you need for this purpose must be therapeutic grade oils. One way to truly know if oils are therapeutic grade is if they meet the specific requirements of organizations that rate the quality of the oils. The AFNOR (Association French Normalization Organization) or the ISO (International Standards Organization) are two good references to clarify this.

* If you are not able at all times to listen to the CD with the oils just carry the essential oil along with you. The scent will trigger the memory of the CD and the goal that you are seeking. The oils may be applied directly to the skin. To do this, simply mix a ratio of one drop of essential oil to one drop of carrier oil (such as olive oil or a good quality vegetable oil). Apply to an area that will not have direct sun exposure; under  the hairline, behind the ears, above the heart if under a shirt. Some oils, such as the citrus oils, are photosensitive and may darken the skin when exposed to sunlight. Focus on your intentions when applying the oils and ENJOY!
